VOTE YES on Measure C to maintain the quality of education in Los Banos Unified School District (LBUSD) elementary, junior high, and high schools.

​

Unfortunately, many Los Banos schools were built 50-100+ years ago and don't meet current health/safety codes. Some buildings aren't accessible for students with disabilities; have hazardous materials like asbestos/lead pipes. 

​

Last year alone Los Banos schools had 95 roof leaks!

LBUSD has 157 portable classrooms 20+ yrs old, falling apart, many with structural damage, and water leaks. It’s expensive to keep repairing aging, deteriorated portables. 

​

Los Banos schools are at maximum capacity. Additional classrooms and facilities are needed to relieve severe overcrowding.

​

Los Banos students deserve better. We need schools with adequate classrooms, labs, and technology so Los Banos students have the same opportunities as others to properly prepare for college and good-paying jobs.

 

Measure C authorizes a prudent, responsible solution to upgrade Los Banos schools. NO other funding exists to address these needs. 

Measure C will: 

•  Remove hazardous materials like asbestos and lead pipes
•  Provide modern labs and career technical facilities and equipment to prepare students for college and in-demand careers in agricultural sciences, engineering, technology, and trades
•  Construct additional classrooms, school facilities, to relieve severe overcrowding
•  Upgrade older schools to meet current health and building safety codes, and provide proper access for students with disabilities 
•   Repair/Replace deteriorating roofs, plumbing, gas lines, sewer lines, and electrical systems 

 

Taxpayer protections are REQUIRED. No funds are allowed for administrators' salaries. Mandatory independent audits, citizens' oversight, and annual public reporting.  ALL FUNDS STAY LOCAL.

Even if you don’t have school-age children, supporting Measure C is a wise investment. Good schools improve the quality of life in our community and protect home values.
